Photo Trip 2017

About a year and a half ago, I got a really cool opportunity to go on a week-long photo trip. The project was for company called Vitajuwel that makes water bottles, decanters, and the like with gemstones that are supposed to infuse with the water to improve the taste and promote different positive aspects (such as wellness, balance, positivity, ect.) depending on what stones are inside.

I recently realized that I hadn't yet posted anything about this trip - which is crazy considering how much I learned in such a short amount of time! I learned an incredible amount about lighting and equipment in just about five days; everything I know about studio lighting and composure was from Stefan Alfons, the photographer I was assisting on this trip. He's originally from Germany, and was asked to join this project by his friend Lukas, who works for Vitajuwel. Lukas also recorded and edited some incredible videos from the trip!

My role was mostly to shoot behind the scenes and assist Stefan by setting up, positioning, holding, and tearing down the equipment; but I also got a few chances to do some primary shooting too with a few of the models we brought on board. It was a tough week for sure, but I honestly don't think I would be able to shoot the sort of work that I do now if it weren't for Stefan.
