Finally! I worked as a second shooter for a few weddings over the summer of 2017, and I have only just finished editing some of them. The primary photographer waited a little while before getting my photos to me, and by the time I had them, I didn't have any time to work on them. I have been chipping away at working on them for my portfolio for months, and here we go!
This was my first time ever working a full wedding, and I remember the day so clearly: I locked my keys and all my gear in my trunk and was panicking trying to get them out so that I wouldn't be late to the wedding. When I finally got to the church in South San Francisco, I realized that the only memory card I had was 2gb (if you were wondering, I usually work with 64 gig memory cards, so 2 was not going to cut it - I think I even filled it up during the ceremony and had to start going through and deleting some that weren't as good!).
The couple wanted a photo session at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, which gave me an opportunity to run to Target and pick up a new memory card for the rest of the day. The PoFA was beautiful, but crowded, and the bride was freezing, but I think we got some spectacular shots.
The bride and groom finally got to relax and be themselves by the time we got to the reception. By the end of the night, I was exhausted, but so happy for everything I learned that day! I'm excited to post more from the weddings I did that summer soon.
