Having your first baby is such a huge moment, but some couples never get the chance to document the time before their bundle of joy arrives. This maternity session was particularly special for me because this gorgeous mama-to-be was truly radiating, and I SO enjoyed capturing her light! I loved how she picked a gown that could show off her belly and her waist beads, which were also very important to her.

We decided on Rancho San Antonio County Park, a stunning natural preserve nestled near Cupertino and Los Altos in the Bay Area, California. One major consideration that I always keep in mind for maternity sessions is making sure that it'll be easy to move around and still get a good variety of photos — no steep hikes or long walks so that everyone stays comfy — and Rancho San Antonio fits the bill perfectly! While there are tons of beautiful, picturesque backdrops that do require a journey, there is also such great variety nice and close to parking lots, which is exactly what we needed.

Even though we didn't stay all the way until the sun set, the warm glow of the evening sun brought a beautiful quality to the whole session, but especially the last few photos we took on a hill towards the entrance of the park.
