This shoot was a challenge! I've worked with some of this family a few times before, but it was definitely difficult to work with such a large group - especially in such a crowded area. I shot these family photos on Mother's Day at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
Luckily, the weather was perfectly overcast, which made for excellent lighting - but there were some little ones (and even some not-so-little-ones) who weren't thrilled to be taking loads of photos. I did my best to diversify the settings to get a good amount of variety and levels, and make each photo a little interesting, and I think they came out great! The hardest part came when I went through editing. I actually spent the time to edit out all of the people in the backgrounds of most of the photos. I feel like exclusivity makes the photos look more special, and having upwards of fifty people walking around in the back of some of the shots really ruined them for me. I feel like I'm only getting better at editing, and love knowing what I was able to do with some of these!
