I've shot quite a few weddings at this point, and while they're all different and special in their own way, one thing I've noticed across the board is that many brides are so focused on things running smoothly and going well, that they're hardly able to enjoy their own wedding! Jael was definitely an exception. She and her groom had such a fun time, and it was really refreshing to see.
Probably my favorite part of the wedding was their first dance. One of the groomsmen played piano, and one of the bridesmaids sang "All of Me" by John Legend while the couple slow-danced; the bridesmaid could hardly get through singing because she was getting all choked up, and Jael and Michael both quietly sang the song to each other while they danced. It was a really beautiful moment, and there were very few dry eyes in the place (which was a beautiful garden, by the way).
During the reception, the two of them did exactly what every bride and groom should do: had an absolute blast. They were dancing and hanging out with all their friends, and overall having a great time. Not to say that I've never seen a bride have fun (of course I have), but Jael and Michael were definitely above and beyond. They had even gotten matching sugar skull tattoos of a bride and groom when they got engaged to represent their undying love for each other, and their lifelong bond. That was definitely a first for me, too!
The one thing I'm bummed about is that I didn't get the chance to shoot at all during the bride-and-groom session because the primary photographer needed me to hold the reflector for him.
