Of all the brides I've worked with, this one always has a very clear vision and knows how to execute it! From the first time I worked with her during their engagement photos, it was obvious that she was thoughtful of how to bring every detail to life. Because of this, some of my favorite photos from the wedding day were actually the detail photos! I always recommend my couples set aside all of the details they want photographed — rings, ring boxes, other jewelry, wedding invitations, colognes and perfumes, sentimental items, shoes, veil, etc. — in a shoe box or something similar so that they can just hand it off to me while they're getting ready and I can take care of the rest! This couple had so many beautiful details, from the stunning invitations with the transparent insert and the humidor for the groom's and his groomsmen's cigars, to the handwritten note on the sole of the brides shoe, and I had such a wonderful time capturing every bit.
This couple had their wedding reception at the Garden Pavilion in Sonoma, California, and their ceremony at a church down the street. We started photography coverage at the venue for getting ready photos and a special first look for the bridesmaids. The church (Saint Leo's) had a massive skylight in the middle of the ceiling, which made for some very moody lighting (which I loved). Back at the venue, the thoughtful details didn't stop! From the simple but elegant table settings, full taco bar, and lively dancefloor, I could tell that the guests were having a blast. The couple had a full Banda playing during their reception, and the groom's brothers even joined in with some singing! They did a money dance, the snake dance, and the dancefloor was never empty for a second.
Another reason this wedding was particularly special to me was because two other couples from this wedding ended up hiring me for their own weddings afterwards! Referrals and word-of-mouth make such a big impact on small businesses like mine, so I am forever grateful to this couple ♥️
