This was one of the first few weddings that I booked on my own — and I am a sucker for Halloween, so I was thrilled when S + S chose me for their big day. This couple played into the Halloween vibes with moody, gothic decor, bronze pumpkins in their table settings, and with a dark dress code for their guests. Everyone was asked to either wear black or dark green, and their guests did not disappoint!
This wedding was at the Glasshouse in downtown San Jose, California. The venue's massive windows, beautiful outdoor spaces, and dedicated prep rooms for the bride and groom made this day such a joy to photograph. Not to mention the view from the balcony onto what served as both the ceremony and reception area!
I had such a wonderful time working with this couple. We played around with style, seriousness, and their natural goofy love for each other; and while my editing style has evolved a lot since then, I love so many of the moments I captured. I especially loved the late-night visit to the Taco Bell Cantina down the street! When a couple incorporates part of what makes them them into their wedding day, the whole thing becomes more unique, genuine, and memorable. Being a huge Taco Bell fan myself, I love how these two brought their favorite fast food spot into the fanciest day of their lives.
